  4. Grant the required permissionsFor features like location, app usage and monitoring to work, Android needs you to approve certain permissions. The setup explains each one — approve them so the app can report to your dashboard.
  5. Sign in to the app with your accountLog in on the child's device using the account you created in step one. This links the device to your dashboard.
  6. Open your dashboard and start monitoringBack on your own phone or computer, sign in to your dashboard. Within a short time you'll see activity, location and reports begin to appear.

A few tips for a smooth setup

Install on the right device. PhoneParental monitors the device it's installed on, so be sure to set it up on your child's Android phone or tablet — not your own.

Grant every permission the wizard asks for. Skipping a permission usually means the matching feature won't work. If a feature looks empty later, an un-granted permission is the most common cause.

Use one account everywhere. Sign in with the same parent account on the child's device and on your dashboard so they link correctly.

Be open with your child. Beyond being the right thing to do, transparency is legally required in many places. Explaining that the app is about safety — not snooping — makes the whole arrangement work better for everyone.
