Privacy Policy

How PhoneParental collects, uses and protects the information involved in keeping your family safer online.

Last updated: June 2026

PhoneParental ("we", "us", "our") provides parental-control software for Android devices. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language, because a tool built around family safety should be honest about its own handling of data.

Who this policy is for

This policy applies to the parent or guardian who creates an account (the "account holder"), and to the monitored device that the account holder is legally authorised to manage. By installing PhoneParental, the account holder confirms they own the monitored device or have the lawful right to monitor it — for example, as the parent or legal guardian of a minor child. PhoneParental is intended for lawful, consensual family use only.

Information we collect

To provide the service, we collect two broad categories of information:

Account information. When you register we collect your email address, a hashed password, and billing details if you purchase a paid plan. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Monitored-device data. Depending on the features you enable, the app on the child device may collect data such as location, app usage and screen-time statistics, call and message metadata or content, web history, and similar activity information. This data is uploaded to your private account dashboard so that you, the account holder, can view it. You control which features are switched on.

How we use information

We use the information to operate the service, display activity to the account holder, process payments, provide support, keep the product secure, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell monitored-device data, and we do not use the content of a child's messages or calls for advertising.

Legal basis and consent

Monitoring another person's device may be regulated by law in your country, state or region. In many places it is lawful for a parent to monitor a minor child, and unlawful to monitor another adult without their knowledge and consent. You are responsible for understanding and complying with the laws that apply to you. Where the law requires the device user to be informed, you must inform them. We recommend that older children are told they are being looked after with the app — trust usually works better than secrecy.

Data storage and security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on secured servers. We apply access controls, encryption at rest where appropriate, and operational safeguards to limit who can access data. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat family data with the seriousness it deserves and work to reduce risk.

Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Monitored-device data is retained for a limited rolling window so your dashboard stays useful without storing everything forever; the exact window can depend on your plan. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records to meet legal, accounting or security obligations.

Sharing of information

We share information only with service providers who help us run the product (such as hosting, payment processing and customer support), and only to the extent they need it to perform their work. We may disclose information where required by law, court order or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the public.

Children's data

PhoneParental is purchased and controlled by an adult account holder, not by children. The data relating to a child is collected on behalf of, and under the control of, that child's parent or guardian, who decides what is enabled. We do not knowingly create accounts for children, and we do not use children's data for marketing.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, to understand how the site is used, and to support advertising on some pages. See our Cookie Policy for details and your choices.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage much of your data from your dashboard, and you can contact us to exercise any right that isn't self-serve. You can disable any monitoring feature at any time, and you can uninstall the app.

International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in. Where we transfer data across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product and the law evolve. When we make material changes we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
